Great pictures Alan, it's 50 years since I've been to Shetland, that was before Oil was discovered! Many good memories sparked by these pictures.

It was really nice of you both to drop in on your way south hopefully we will be seeing you both again next year as well as all our other friends at Rallies in 2021.

Good to see you posting on the forum, Rod.

I don't get the point about the registration number. Cheaper, easier and intelligible to just get some stick on letters across the windscreen, Gaz + Sue, or somesuch!.

Is the one in the pics meant to mean something?

Alan do you belong to the VMCC ? If you do and wanted to spend a week on various routes around Cornwall in September then take part in the VMCC Cornwall Rally week. It's a week's camping near Newquay and the routes cover many different parts of the county and cover anything from narrow back lanes, moorland roads to main roads and the odd bit of dual carriageways. Hopefully it will be run next year as like everything else was cancelled this year.

Dudley's post "Just noticed the Reg you have been splashing the cash again Alan!"

I thought he meant that the number had a meaning, I now realise he probably meant it was very recent but I've no idea about these things.

I don't know what the years the numbers refer to!

Just returned from a walk with my other significant to the Caravan Club site at West Runton where we are staying for a few days. As we walked up to the reception there was a camper van with a modern AJS strapped to the back waiting to pitch up. I said to my wife “Wouldn't it be funny if that was Alan Jennings” I watched the warden direct the driver to his pitch and when the driver looked up, sure enough, ‘‘twas Alan. Funny ol life 😉
