Tappet clearance
I have two books with the valve clearance, the one printed that covers up to 1959 twins and the somewhat useless book from Jampot spares both have different spec's the older book states 6thou for inlet & exhaust the jampot book states 6 and 8 thou' so which is correct?

Re: Tappet clearance
According to my Freddie Neill book on twins all engines made before 1960!had clearances of .006" and 1960 onwards .008". It is also the same in my workshop manual.

Thanks Mike.
I've set them at 6 thou now as it's a 57 twin.
