Hurricane Irma

Post by Expat »

Hello All,

Things getting a little hairy here with the above named apocalypse heading our way. Everything buttoned down, still have power miraculously, bikes in garage on battery tenders, wife in living room on Jack Daniels and cola, me wondering what the hell we are doing here. :D :D

Hoping the winds will moderate to less than 100mph at worst. FJR could outrun.....G3 not so much.

Keep fingers crossed for us, thanks.

Steve

Try to keep safe. I think you should be helping your wife with the Jack Daniels.

Whatever the problems we may think we have in the UK, hurricanes aren't usually among them.

Phew......we were so lucky here in Valrico. Luckier than a lot of folks in other areas who had flooding and damage to property.
As hoped, wind speed had dropped below 100mph, so basically just clearing up to do. Apparently the whole state had high winds and rain at the same time, some kind of record.

We discovered just how much valuable and important stuff there is around the house that needs to be packed up and waterproofed in the event of evacuation. Exhausting day yesterday, now to put it all away again! ;)

Thanks for all your good wishes, could have been much worse. Don't wish to see a hurricane this huge and powerful again any time soon.

Cheers All, Steve
