Quiz time.

Post by Rob Harknett »

Unwanted original bike part.
It is odd, there is one original part every bike once had, that is no longer wanted by even the most fussy of owners, that must have their bike correct. There are not even good repro's of this part available. It is clear many do not have it or want it for their bike, be it original or nothing like the original repro. What is this missing part? ( Maybe I should offer a pic. of the part to Quiz master )

Instruction book.
Every bike had one when new. Answers a lot of simple questions an owner would want to know about.
Hardly ever see a wants add for one. Not everyone even got a rough old repro.

But it is not an original part Clive. Not even a repro. you can touch, made from paper etc. You would not even get a complaint if a repro was the wrong colour.

Hi

I hope that I still have my original manual, (just have to relocate it ;) ) -I have the MOT certs from the period I drove the bike, the beige registration document but unfortunately not the tax discs.

I'm trying to collect an 'original' tool kit.

Guess the 'Holy Grail' is the original bill of sale.

Regards Mick

My brother and I still have the original bill of sale for my Dad's 1955 G80S, the first tax disc and the original handbook and spares list (although a bit dog-eared now), oh and the bike!!

....and my one and only offence - a month after passing my test. Tried to 'lose' a cop car in my mother's Morris Minor.
