Looks like a PML type from the US. Ceramic coating. I fitted one last year. Follow & read the bore clearance instructions very carefully.

A PML it is 😊

Ceramic coated crown to reduce the heat transfer.

The whole piston top enters the head... u can see the squish band around the outside of it.

Odd design... BIG heat loss into the piston. But seemed like a good idea at the time

would red oxide paint serve the same purpose?
