This is one of the (Angels wings) badges on US ebay, listing shows different badges in the centre, yours is probably an older version of this.

I took the badge off today, and nothing exciting, I'm sure now it's an after part added some time ago, decades ago. I think it is probably from the US, I was looking at Dodge and Chrysler badges, as you say Peter, many such things about. Nothing on the reverse side of it, or signs of Matchless or AJS transfers underneath.

But a new 12volt battery fits in it beautifully, so I'll repair it and fit it on, many thanks
