I have a 1960 coil ignition G12 with the 18D2 Distributor.
What is the best way to check the static timing, and what should the static timing be? The manual only shows how to check on a single. I have a timing disc.
Also, is it worth checking with a strobe light? If so what is the best way to do this? What should the maximum advance be and at what RPM?

Re: G12 Coil Ignition timing
Dave, I saw that, but it doesn't say how many degrees BTC for static and doesn't mention what to do with the distributor auto advance.

Re: G12 Coil Ignition timing
It does, it says turn the rotor clockwise to fully advance then set as for magneto twins. On page 42 for the Magneto twins it tells you to set it to 11/32" BTDC, further down the page it says 11/32" = 35degrees.
