Stafford Show
Great weekend at Stafford Show. Congratulations to Ian Massey for organising the stand and good to catch up with old friends. Even though the weather was abominable on the Saturday, it did not dampen down the enthusiasm of the paying public and we were kept busy answering questions and selling raffle tickets, we even recruited seven new members. Peter Cunningham got a Highly Commended for his beautifully turned out G45 and to my utter shock and disbelief, I was awarded Best Military Machine in show. Hope all who attended enjoyed themselves as much as I did.

We even had high security, even if it was from the 1940's.

There were a couple of times when I was sat on the bike or stood still for a few minutes and then moved that made a few people jump because they thought just that Its not the first time Ive been called a dummy, and I expect it won't be the last. Call me whatever you want providing its not two things ...... Too early in the morning, or too late for breakfast!.Plugsnpoints wrote:Don't tell 'em Pike!thornebt wrote:Is that a real person or a dummy? Cheers. Bruce.

Re: Stafford Show
Seeing the sten gun reminds me of an incident in the early 90s. I worked for an East End Council and had to attend a Council committee meeting with a colleague and mentioned that i was fed up with some of the Councillors and thought they needed shooting. We sat bored until late in the evening when she spiced up my meeting, just before I was going to speak, by showing me she had a sten gun in her bag and whispering "tell me when to start"! Afterwards I established it was not decommisioned and had been brought back after the war by her father.
