I didn't pay any attention to the photo in view of Roger's comforting assurance:

Since I've never done Time I wouldn't know how to recognise Security Screws from all the other staff.

The photo I posted is the original plaque, obviously before it was stolen

Can anyone who lives near, take a photo of the new plaque so that we can clear this up!

I can verify that the photo does not show security (prison type) screws.

No, I haven't done time but I am, as a carpenter, familiar with the fixings.

What it really justifies is a statue depicting a machinist, welder or suchlike, making a quality product built with pride in the 1950s. This would signify one of the workers producing what should have been a developing British motorcycle industry, rather than a dying one with asset stripping accountants and managers etc. resting on their laurels. Building a few Barratt boxes on the site isn't really a tribute. Someone pinching the plaque and trying to make a few quid sums it up.

I don't suppose for a minute that that will happen, but I recommend tamper proof screws for a start if they get a replacement plaque. I'd donate for that if there's whip round.
