Heavy bike centrestand problems.

Post by Mollbhan »

Lots of people seem to have problems pulling their bikes on to the centrestand, I found an easy way to get my G12 on to its stand and I aint no Charles Atlas ( now that's giving your age away). I am sure lots of you have something similar but any newbies might find this helpful.
Get a sheet of ply or sterling board about three feet wide and the length of the wheelbase of the bike and screw a piece of wood about 1 to 2 inches high on one end of it, push the bike on to the sheet till the front wheel is just up on the board, push down the centrestand and mark where it touches the sheet of ply, screw a piece of wood about half inch thick across the sheet where it will catch the feet of the stand.
It is then an easy matter to push the front wheel up on the high board, stand on the centrestand and pull the bike back of the board, as the bike comes back it actually helps it over the stand. You can't take it with you obviously but it makes life easier in the garage.

Yep, someone with bad legs and feet, and NO, it wasn't me. I've just taken on the design, tweaked it and mass produced them.
