Re: Reduced lockdown in France...
Before the lockdown I had planned to visit the Sammy MILLER museum, the Beaulieu museum, Devon ... Otherwise, all pubs are alike !
I have been to Northampton 2 times, to visit the National Museum, to have work done by Glenn David, T & L, to collect parts from AMOC parts, AMC Spares, Paul GOFF, to visit the Grand Union Canal, and the Great Western Railway, Prickwillow pumping station, Ely ... I chose NORTHAMPTON because of its location. In the evening I parked my car at the IBIS hotel, and I could visit a multitude of pubs on foot, without risking my driving license!

I spent a fascinating three hours there in July '19 and asked the guide why they had to pump the water from the dykes and drains up about ten metres to discharge it into the river above.JEAN-NOEL wrote: ......Prickwillow pumping station, Ely ...
I realised it was a naive question when he explained that over the centuries the drainage of the Fens had dried and shrunk the peat/soil lowering the ground until it was that far below the river level.
