Reduced lockdown in France...

Post by JEAN-NOEL »

Hello Gents,
Since December 28, we are allowed to walk at a distance of 20 km as the crow flies for 3 hours, instead of 1 km and 1 hour.
I was very happy, because I could ride my motorbike for 3 hours, and many kilometers ...
Until November 28, it was Indian summer, with temperatures of 15-18 C in the afternoon.
Now there is snow on the roads, and the temperature has dropped to between -2 and -5, with freezing fog.
I'm waiting for the weather to be better, to park the G12 at the back of the garage to be able to park my car!
The years go by, but they are not alike!
Cheers.

I'm sure there'll be good days.

With nice sunshine even if cold.

As the crow flies .... hihi, new expression to me! :-)

You say you are allowed to WALK ... you probably meant 'travel' ?

Here up north we all have to park our bikes for 4-6 months. A perfect time for maintenance. It makes the anticipation of spring time even greater!

Seasons greetings Jean-Noel and everyone,

I took the opportunity to take both bikes for an 8-9 mile circuit of the local lanes today, for the first time since before our second lockdown.

It wasn't for fun but purely to transfer the oil out of the sumps and back into the tanks you understand ;)

It was jolly cold (but not -5!) and it now looks like they well be tucked up in the garage for a few days as it's going to be cold and wet. I don't do cold and wet or even dark for that matter.

Go careful out there.

Eventually the snow melted, and it now remains at 1200m in elevation, but it is raining cats and dogs ! Fortunately the JAMPOT arrived in my mailbox on November 30th at noon. An exemplary exactitude, and it is always a pleasure for me to receive the journal "in paper". Every day of the week, on television, we have 2 episodes of Inspector Barnaby, one with John NETTLES, the other with Neil DUDGEON ... The places where the films are shot are always magnificent and remind me of my stays in the West Midlands, or in the Borders ...

@Dave :Near GRENOBLE, in the Alps - Elevation 3200'
@ John : I agree ! When Barnaby come in to solve a criminal case, the murders are numerous! He's a nice cop, but there are many deads around him before the puzzle is solved!
