Motorcycle Turntable

Post by spookefoote1956 »

One of the lads in the local vmcc section made one of these. A lazy susan bearing from Simply Bearings (£9.99) and a 5mm steel plate for the top. He has limited turning space to get the bike in the shed. Thought it might be a good idea.

I'm going to make one to sit on my bike lift.

Many years ago I made a turntable using an old RSJ on its side, castor wheels from an industrial trolley then bolting it to the floor in the centre. It worked a treat with my heavyweight tractor of a Guzzi 1000. I rode it up the channel then turned it 180 degrees to get out. :)

Hi Spookie

That's the last place I'd be balancing a bike on a lazy susan on! :o :o :o

There's not enough room between the other bike, bench, garden tools, lawn mower and assorted 'may be useful' clutter in my shed to rotate a bike through 180 deg.
I have seriously considered putting in another door so that I can ride in the front and out the other end........... :?

Couldn't you just put a castor wheel on each corner of your lift?
