Re: Twin oil pump
It won't fit inside the timing cover.

Re: Twin oil pump
It will fit if you also fit a wide later timing cover (very hard to find) and longer screws. If you do fit it will probably have over-oiling problems and lots of oil leaks.

Re: Twin oil pump
i agree with Rob and Dave. From memory M30 did'nt have a discharge valve, and oïl pressure would be very high with hi cap pumps and straight 50 oïl !

Re: Twin oil pump
Wouldn't a late pump carrier plate with the integral prv do the trick, or a Gibbons-style modded one? With the fat timing cover already mentioned?
If, that is, Mod 30s never had a prv on the timing cover side of the filter chamber?
(Just thinking out loud because I'm not sure, there were so many changes in this area over the years).
Not sure if the q has arisen because the only pumps to hand are late ones, or whether it's about improving flow and/or pressure over the std bits?
A good wheeze if wanting extra flow is to use a std scavenge pump for the supply side, and a later feed pump for the scavenge. There's enough difference in capacity to function well, and the setup fits under a standard Matchess cover - not sure if there's room under the two-bulge ajay version however, maybe not. I use a M cover over this pairing on my mod 31.

I agree with Bill, if you have the late pump carrier plate, no problem, the discharge valve is fitted in it.
