Looking for info on an ex-AFS bike

Post by toorie_loon »

Hi all,

This is my first post as I'm new to this club. Brief history, started with an AJS 16 back in 1959 from Slocombs, Neasden Lane and first real ride was up to NE Scotland. I've had many bikes since and now getting too old for high powered ones (and perhape for any at all)! So I might treat myself to a 80th birthday present that would complete the circle of 18 - 80 and go back to an AMC bike.

I've seen one for sale, a 1960 Machless G3, 133XVM an ex-AFS, and also an ex-club members bike I believe. Very much like my original one too. So I'm looking for some info on the bike and its history if that is possible. I do have some general details about the AFS bikes but would like some on this one. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance and hope I'm not standing on anyone's toes.

Are you sure it's not XYM which is a common AFS number?
Dave.

This is the bike on Ebay and has an age related number, this is a ex AFS bike sold by the club early this year.

Hi Roy,
Thanks for that info, I did wonder about the reg no. Have you got any other details about the bike and history?
Cheers,
