Sounds good Malcolm. 4900ohms is perfick absent any other problem - and big spark gaps too. Odds are you're in good shape there.

When you're timing bear in mind the following:
The lower lobe on the camring fires the REAR pick-up (gearbox side) and the upper one fires the front one (cylinder side).
So you need to look at the fibre heel of the opening point arm to see which lobe it's on and connect your plug leads accordingly. Doesn't matter which way, at all. I tend to have the rear pick-up going to the offside cylinder (well, it would be if I were in England!) but many people prefer the opposite.
If you get it 'wrong', no prob, just swap the leads over.
And don't forget, when playing with the position of the mag while the drive is disconnected, to be sure you twiddle it the right way - which is clockwise from the contact breaker side as you find the position of 'just opening'. Just closing isn't good at all - but we've all done it a few times I'd guess!
