twin steering damper parts orientation

Post by g5wqian »

i am not sure about the order in which the parts above the fork are installed in , from the fork stem nut upwards .

i have a capped washer , spring , ratchet washer and bakelite knob but not sure in which order they are installed above the stem nut .

obviously the ratchet washer sits under the knob but which way round are the capped washer and spring fitted please ? .

ive read through many of the message archives but cant find any details about the order in which the parts are installed .

thanks for any info .

cheers

I am sure the parts are shown in order in the parts list. If I am wrong you are sure to get a prompt correction.

Yes, that looks about right. There are two friction washers 000812 needed in the arrangement but only one is shown in the parts list illustration.

I believe this is the correct order of assembly......

Yes, illustrations of parts will only show one part pictured, you need to read text as to number off. Also some small parts may not be shown in illustrations.
