chain size

is the primary chain size 1/2" x .305 the same as 1/2" x 3/16" ?

Well the chain you want is 1/2" x .305 66 links for 54 G3LS pt.no. 017298. That is the size and pt.no. you need as far as I see. I am sure .305 is 5/16th

many thanks, i only need a split link, mine departed company with the rest of the chain yesterday!

I had just filled up with fuel at the lunchstop during the Beamish Run, started the motor, put it into gear and clunk, took casing off this morning, no damage at all except for the connecting link, lucky eh

Lucky indeed. Well, not so lucky that it broke in the first place, but lucky that it did it when it did.
