I use some late type petrol taps with no flage for sealing.
They have a loose nut.
For these taps fibre washers or Dowty washers are no good because the petrol will escape between the nut and the body.
For this type you need to seal with PTFE tape (I do) or maybe some kind of liquid sealant.

for sealant i use loctite 577 thread sealant , it is designed for fuel , i use it on avgas , ordinary pump petrol , and kerosene and diesel .

it sets quickly and if you need to release it you need to warm it up .
