Identifying 1961 Heavyweight Front Mudguard

I am trying to check if I have the correct front mudguard for my 1961 G12 standard twin. The front mudguards for 1961 are shorter at the front than those for 1959, please can anyone give me the measurement from the front of the fork bracket to the front edge of the mudguard for 1961 or the measurement for the 1959 one? The '61 is 13". The 59/60 mudguard is 15". I think the '61 type looks much better. Don't get a lightweight one which will fit but is very tight on the front tyre at the front (I've seen them fitted).

Thank you Dave for the measurements, just what I needed but they tell me I have the wrong mudguard for 1961. Like you I think the shorter front one looks much better and now I am wondering if anyone has tried to shorten the front of the earlier guard by the 2 inches needed to make it look right for a 1961 model. If it is too difficult to shorten it I will try to find the correct one rather than using it.
One question I would like to ask before deciding if I can alter the 1959 guard is, if the shape of the front of the 1959 and 1960 guards are same because I think the 1961 might have been a bit more rounded. Thank you, Lyn
