Carb refurb
I would like to send my carb (1955 18S) to someone to get it refurbished, not in any hurry , looking for someone who will do an excellent job . Can be in any country
1954 AJS 18S Cyprus export (frame decode says 1954 but many components match a 1955).

Re: Carb refurb
Hi
Why bother? - You can get a brand new carb from http://amalcarb.co.uk/?SID=bf561n74o5m9 ... store=amal
Probably cheaper than a refurb unless you have the confidence to do it yourself
Regards Mick

Re: Carb refurb
Martyn Bratby, is a hardcore fan of ... carbs (ring him on 01543 572583 for all your old British carb needs) he will rebuild your carb to better tolerances than a new Amal one. He is meticulous and my bike now ticks over like a Swiss watch

Re: Carb refurb
I agree with Paul: Martyn Bratby is who you need to speak to.
His refurb work is excellent (better than new, in my opinion) and cheaper than a new carb.

Here is a video of it running after the carb refurb (a few years ago now) but it is still the same todayclanger9 wrote:I agree with Paul: Martyn Bratby is who you need to speak to.

That sounds so consistent, exactly what I'm hoping forOzmadman wrote:Here is a video of it running after the carb refurb (a few years ago now) but it is still the same todayclanger9 wrote:I agree with Paul: Martyn Bratby is who you need to speak to.
