Dynamo Screw Query

Post by Mick D »

Hi

I'm restoring a Lucas E3L dynamo, (PN 20036A) and am wondering if there should be a screw in the armature shaft at the commutator end:

As the Lucas Workshop Instructions suggest there should be one:

If one should be fitted can anyone help with a part number as it appears not to be listed in the Lucas Spares List.

Failing a part number a photo would be useful as I should be able to turn a replacement if necessary.

Regards Mick

Quite a few companies restore Dynamos. They would surely have the part , but will they sell just that screw. Try them, Mags have adverts 3/4 in Old bike Mart

Should be 2BA Mick. think it comes in the 'sundry parts kit' probably, along with a few other odds and ends and screws!

Thanks for the pointers chaps

I can't seem to be able to find anyone with stock of the sundry parts kit but I have found a photo showing the screw in James Smith's book.
I think it's this one:

Sure I can modify a stock screw or if not make one.

Try Tony Cooper. I've found him to be very knowledgeable and helpful.
