Knobblies

Post by spookefoote1956 »

Hello again. I'm looking for some road legal knobblies for Project Kate. Front 2.75 x 18 and Rear 90/90 x 18. Can anyone recommend a supplier?

Cheers, Chris

Dont know about knobblies but i have found "pneus online" very good for the big name tyres. Cheaper than the tyre guy at Kempton.

Just an update on knobblies. It looks like I'm going for a pair of Heidenau K60's. I loves me knobblies on my bikes. Just like drum brakes, you know exactly where you are with them .......... nowhere! They make me ride slower.

How about Ensign tyres for the same appearance as the ads from the early 50s? Ive got them on some of my older bikes from the late 30s through to early 50s purely for the appearance. Handling feels a little odd at first but you soon get used to them and are able to ride as if they were Avon SMs. They may be available in the sizes you need.

Love the profile but they don't do my size 275 18. They're for project Kate.

Bought a pair of Heidenau K67 tyres from eBay for the 30CS I am currently restoring .

They were a bugger to fit but look the part..... bike ain't finished yet so can't comment on performance.

Heidenau are very well thought of by our continental cousins, they do some unusual sizes, I have one on the front of the G80cs. kind regards
