Sounds like a bog standard british bike to me! Same old issues we have all faced when buying an old bike, that's part of the fun and frustration I guess. Hello again guys and gals, a sneaky wee 10 mile test run was very successful , kicks over fine drives and selects with no issues . The 54 era box I bought was given an overhaul and is doing the job . For your info the biggest bodge problem in my old 56 box was the wrong size clutch rollers , the rest was worn out parts.
