Having looked at another wheel before lacing up mine, it appears there is more than one spoke fitment/hole type on the smaller side of the hub/reel at the front.
One type has a keyhole type fitment for the spoke to slot into while the other has a 'V' shaped one that will take two spokes (one held at either head of the 'V').
So before I set to and waste more time ....... are these identical in all other aspects does anyone know. I can't see mention specifically in the Bacon book and the spares lists for 50-53 seem to show the keyhole type in the drawings. It's a 7" drum so 49-53/4 ish.
Thanks
Tom

Re: Single sided hub spoke fitment
The keyhole one is up to 52 and the Y shape is 52 -53 on. about. Spokes are the same lengths, like for like

Re: Single sided hub spoke fitment
Phew, thanks Alan. I have a spare but it was the same 'V' shape.
Some time in future I hope to have a wheel put together....... I bet this won't be the last question before it's done though.
Thanks
