Two over-flow pipes ?
I have the oil tank in the attached photos, which I intend to put on my 52 18s. It’s not one for the rivet counters, so not worried it’s not a perfect match, but I’ve not seen one with what appears to be two overflows before. Can anyone shed any light on if this is what they are and if so why the two?
Thanks
Tom

Re: Two over-flow pipes ?
Hi actual answer I'm afraid, but if they extend to near the top inside the tank, could they be the attachment points for two separate breather pipes?

Yeah, they both appear to be breather/overflows. One is easily traceable, the other can't as it runs out of sight. Just seems odd to have two.

Idle thought: P'raps the PO was trying to cure wet sumping/smoking by adding another breather........?
I poke badgers with spoons.....from 2 metres.

I suppose, to finish this thread off, just in case someone is searching for the same info in the future ....
I've been informed by a knowledgeable fellow, that this is from an early twin with a timed breather.
Illustration is hopefully (1950 twin) correct (or close at least, mine exits at the bottom).
