I still have copy of Jampot August 1978 you wanted Dave,

Do you have a copy of Jampot from 1979 with the Jampot Rally write up in it Rob? It was my 1st rally and I would love to read the write up. The Rally was held in Long Wittenham near Didcot.

Been looking on Ebay for ages, never seen anything older than late 80s

Cheers
Peter

I will look this evening. If its in a mag I will have it.
I did offer to scan the old magazines, but the offer was not taken up.

Had a look, Aug issue no. 325 had details of the rally held last w/end of Aug 1979. Sept. issue no. 326 nothing about the rally, Oct issue no 327, no write up as such, it is mentioned in " Chairman's Comments " Letters to editor and section notes. I have the magazine scanned, I could e mail a PDF version of it to you, send me your e mail address to prewar@jampot.com Please state what you want. Often I get yes please ??? then I wonder why yes please. I do not keep records of all my phone calls, conversations and e mails.

There was an article about the rally in Classic Bike with a centre page picture spread of the concourse bikes. Got rid of all my classic bike mags but from memory they were a Pykett restored 53 Matchless twin, a G3CS and an AJS trials. It was my 2nd Jampot and our section brought a nice Matchless G50 (our landlord had a collection of racing bikes and lent us the G50 for the week-end). I can't remember if we got it started, but I've got pictures of us pushing it up and down!

I have loads of pictures Dave, I'll dig them out and see if there is one of the G50.
