"Knee knocker" tank badges
The parts service is considering commissioning a new batch of knee knocker tank badges.
Based on potential tooling cost and piece prices we expect the retail price including vat to be around £175 per pair.
In order to help us decide whether or not to proceed we would welcome feedback from members.

I was asked today if there was any update on this as Bantam John is selling the old ruff copies at over £200.00 a pair.

This is the first time this venture is brought to my attention. I would certainly be interested and have sent off an e-mail to Jampot Spares .
I am a little curious. When you say "new batch", I get the impression that a batch was made previously at some point in time.
What happened to the dies of the previous batch?

Re: "Knee knocker" tank badges
Due to the limited market for these badges we have to keep the costs down.
The most economic way to produce them is to use a "one batch" die which is suitable for producing quantities of 25 - 50.
The last batch made was approx. ten years ago and we are now assessing the potential demand before commissioning a further quantity.

Would they be Matchless or AJS badges... there is a difference!

I'm interested too. My 1963 Matchless G12CSR needs these badges. At the moment it is fitted with what clearly are copies, but roughly made and not following the curves of the tank closely.

We're still working on the case. Hopefully after the show at Stafford Stuart or I will be able to give a positive confirmation. It's looking good at this moment in time.
Re: "Knee knocker" tank badges
I might be interested but where can I find a photograph of the badges?
