just rebuilt the csr engine from the ground up, including new oil pump. question is: how long should the engine run before oil starts coming out of the little hole below the filler cap? i ran it for about a minute and still no sign, so i stopped the engine just in case. don't want to seize it up already.
cheers, bb.

oil circulation question
May take a little longer than a minute starting on a bone dry engine. Oil must circulate, build up in the sump to its level before returning surplus. Let it run a bit longer just above tick over maybe 2/3 mins

oil circulation question
thanks everybody, i feel a bit safer now. rob, yes, the oil level has lowered, quite a bit. no oil at rockers though and no spurt. will have another go again tonight and see what the outcome is - no pun intended.
