aim is to get my Model 14(with CSR motor)on the road for next spring.i bought it from a dealer,but has no battery.i see from the book it should have a MLZ9E,are they still available?or what is recommended?any help appreciated

I've recently being searching for an appropriate battery for my G3 so been looking into different options. I'm not sure what the battery style / size for your later M14 is (hidden away in the side 'toolbox'?) but you might find something useful in my ramblings here:

I have converted mine to 12v but the local motorcycle shop does 6 & 12v to fit have a look here

It will of course depend on what you are using it for and how often you want to ride it.
The spares scheme do a range but as I recall you need to collect as they cant post for obvious reasons

I have a Varta(6v) battery on my G3,take it off every winter now 8 years old not bad value for £30.

Allways have Varta on my Diesel Matchless .
When i need a Car Battery it will be a Varta also .

thanks for the replies lads i shall have to decide whether to stay 6 volt or convert.i bought the bike from Kettering Classics,so not too far to pick up any bits.
