I would still consider getting a modified resistor/regulator thingy that Colin mentioned at the start which will still allow you to start on a flat battery + regulate your charging properly so you won't suffer any of the above problems. I took Colin's advice and fitted mine as few days ago and it works great and they come in 6 or 12 volt

Anybody know what the correct spark plug should be for my 14,took it out today after i'd been for MOT just to see what it was burning like and it appears to be a short reach plug in a long hole!!

Manual states KLG FE 80, thats equal to NGK B7ES or Champion N3, I think

KLG FE80 = NGK B7ES = Champion N4C

All 14mm plugs with 3/4" reach, non-resistor, no projected nose. Champion N4 is the same but they seem to add a "C" at the end now, N3 is a little cooler.
