Front mudguard stay

Post by Grad »

Could anyone show me a picture of the front mudguard stay on my 59 G2. The bit around the guard is easy to see, but where it fits to the forks (lightweight James type) is a bit of a mystery! I seem to remember that the fitting to the bottom of the forks is a bit "different". Any help/pictures would be massively appreciated.

Cheers

The mudguard is round and pops into the hole in the forks just above the spindle.

Hi Steve, Rob is right in his description, the ends of the stays have internal thread, you push the stay through the hole in the forks and screw a bolt in which draws/locks the stay against the wheel spindle, so before you tighten the bolts put the spindle through the forks, tighten and adjust what ever you need to do and then lastly tighten the stay bolts.
Don't forget if you need to remove wheel slacken the stay bolts, I did have some photos but as usual I can't find them, any problems let me know.
