Tickle the carb until it floods . Kick over with a touch of throttle (mine needs this to start reliably ) If nothing fires at all pull the spark plug and see if it is wet with petrol . If not its not getting fuel through . Should fire even with the wrong needle (i've done this ) but wont run properly ,will be way too rich if you try and rev it .

Is the spark a good solid blue crack ?

Should be a good blue spark really , anything less may fail under compression.

What is the points gap ? And have you checked the ignition timing ?

All contribute to running correctly.

If you have clear fuel pipe and maybe a clear inline filter, then you'll be able to see the fuel flowing into the carb when you turn the tap on.

Hopefully, when the float chamber fills up the flow will stop.

If this happens you're halfway there.

Pilot air screw all the way in , then 1.5 turns back out is a good starting point.

Try to verify the throttle slide 3 and 1/2 and the jet sizes as previous note.

You shouldn't be too far away to get it running

Hi also check ignition timing . Piston should be at 1/4 inch btdc with points just separating and Bob weights in fully open position .
Good luck
