Hi all, Just joined the club. Can I ask a question being new to owning a matchless 250 crs. I can not seem to found any information on things like what engine oil to use.Same with the gear box and a really dumb question where the gear box is drained and refilled. Are there manuals out there for my model csr 250 1966.I am in west Yorkshire Leeds in fact is there club near by .

Re: gear box
Welcome to the club Kevin,
Engine and gearbox oil use a straight 50, primary and forks use straight 20. (others will their own opinions)
If you visit the National Motorcycle Museum website there is a shop there selling manuals, spares books and all other manner of books related to our bikes, you need the manual and spares book, there is a manual covering heavy and lightweights sold by the club which is very handy.

Regarding the gearbox the drain plug is below kickstart lever at the bottom of gearbox and the filler is the small oval plate held in by two screws, fill it to just below the lip.
East Yorkshire section maybe near you.
Colin
