Should there be a shim(s) on the swinging arm ??- with the forks pushed against the mounting frame the cotter pin is a mile away from lining up- see pix attached

Both bronze bearing bushes should be top hat bushes.
A felt seals fits round the rim of the bushes to keep the oil in.

It's not meant to be flush with the frame - the bushes are top-hat shaped.

[edit] Just seen dodger's post which shows what it's meant to be like. Mine doesn't have the felt rings, but the oil doesn't drip much.

This shows the bush "top hat" fits proud of the frame and will take up the gap you have.

This is a 250 frame which was used by the PO on my 350 Model 8!

Thanks guys- The bushes in mine- as you can see from the original pix is a simple plain bush- so I suppose I need to source the proper ones- any thoughts on availability ?

Looks likes a job for some one with a sample to find a supplier and let the club get some made.

Hi

Sourced some from Brit Bikes Only in Austria- ... https://www.vintage-motorcycle.com/en .......not cheap and postage is horrendous...but when needs must

I'm still confused as to why the originals weren't fitted...surely the swinging arm must have been moving sideways ?- mind you as far I I know the bike hasn't been on the road since 1967....
