I am rebuilding a model 8 (with bottom end issues!) and was wondering if the crankcases and crankshaft of the model 8 and 14 are compatible, as there is one up for sale.

You'd also need the barrel, piston, pushrods, exhaust pipe and carburettor - that's what comes to mind as the 250 has a smaller stroke and bore to the 350.

Crankshaft has a different stroke - the axles are the same but the flywheels are different.
There are subtle differences between early/late crankcases, though within a given year the crankcases appear to be the same.

Thank you for the technical support guys, it's really helpful for tinkerers like me to be able to pick your brains. It has stopped my short cut from being a costly dead end!
