Battery tray/carrier arrangement

Postby ColourNcoat » Fri Dec 18, 2020 10:07 am

All the work that's been done on my 1965 csr was botched so would like to put back to original.
I have done plenty of searching for pictures and diagrams in technical and search facility but cannot find sufficient information. :headbang:
Could anyone put pictures or links to original positioning of battery, rectifier and coil so its how it should be please.
All that seems available are pictures of bikes with side panels fitted and nothing behind.
I will be converting to 12v at a later stage but for now it will be 6v system.
Thanks yet again for the help.
Regards Roger.

Not sure if you can save & blow up to see what you want to see.

Hi Rob, I love the home made air filter.
Thank you for taking the time for posting the pictures. I take it you have converted to 12v system.
It's very impressive and looks really nice.
Does the battery sit in where the rubber strap is and is the positioning original?
I found one where the battery was in the side panel next to the tool compartment.
It's knowing which are original so I have the basics.
Thank you once again for your impressive G2.
Regards Roger.

I would like to add that this thread was denied and that's why I posted at the end of the other thread

The pictures are not of any of my bikes. If you look at a few bikes you may find owners have used a bungee strap.
Depends if you fit a battery of the same dimensions as the original battery I guess.

Thanks Rob. Will keep looking and hopefully find something of original spec/positioning.

Thank you Paul.
I had a feeling the rectifier was mounted on the mudguard.
The coil and brackets left over now have a home
