Don’t all laugh at once, I have made big mistake Measured the bore wrong it’s a 1 1/8 not 1 1/16. Should use my glasses more!
Is this where my problem is the bore size I mean not my glasses

1-1/8in seems large for a standard 250cc. Compare with the inlet port. Too large carbs for their mounting can cause severe tuning problems due to "Inlet Port Obstruction", (IPO). The step from the large, (or misaligned), carb to port interferes with the very low flow from the carb at low throttle settings.

It’s defiantly bigger than then the inlet port. Can’t believe I didn’t notice. Do you think this has been the problem all along?
