Two of the three wires coming out of the alternator shorted out - too close to the gearbox sprocket! No charge now. The alternator now appears defunct as it won't light a bulb or register voltage on a d.c. meter. What is the procedure for testing with a bulb - just to make sure I get it right? Do you test each of the three wires invidually + earth or pair the wires as with a d.c. check? Is it possible that the A.O. Osborn rectifier/regulator is also kaputski?
Electrics have been nothing but a pain with this machine recently1 M'aider moi, s'il vous plait!
