AJS Matchless 250

i am going to buy a 250 AJS or Matchless can some one please tell me the diferance between a normal 250 and a 250 CSR engine

I don't know about the engine but the CSR has a clutch from the 350 on it.

From what I can see in my odds n sods boxes the csr has steel flywheels, different conrod, larger inlet valve, higher compression piston and the primary and timing cases have no badges or relief, and of course the bike has 1 1/8 teledraulic forks.

The later 250s (1962 on) used the CSR engine with steel flywheels and other parts mentioned by cbranni.
