Correct Battery?

Hello there,
First post! My Father owns a Model 14 AJS. It's been off the road for about 10 years (he's now 65 so it looking to get it back on the road for one last summer before selling it.
He's looking for the correct battery to use, the last one he got from a local bike shop was just to fit the space, and he felt it wasn't man enough for the job.
So if any of you could kindly help me, or point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. So he's after either an original one or the Modern equivilant - whatever you guys are using on your own bike.
Many thanks
Scott

I have the Matchless equivalent bike so should be able to tell you what battery to use but it's out in the shed and I'm too lazy to go and look but I've got one of those new-fangled Cyclon batteries. It helps when I'm lying underneath my bike having fallen off as there is no acid to leak out onto me.
Be careful about the 'one last summer' ploy. At 65, your dad is a mere stripling compared with the grumpy old men and women here so my money is on him saying that for a number of years to come. You can keep a good man down once he's got the feeling of the open road back.
I hope he, and you enjoy the bike.
