Hi, I Require a new alternator stator for my g5 as it's shot with shorting wires and generally crispy old ones.
I'm aware that these can be rewound but as an alternative to this can anyone vouch for the lucas rm19 stator as a replacment?
the wipac ones are a bit thin on the ground.

I too have a problem with my Model 8 wipac alternator it is totally defunked !! Can I replace the stator and rotor with a Lucas type?? I'm aware that the hole in the rotor is a different size to the wipac rotor but this can be overcome with bushing I assume. The other thing is the thickness of the body of the stator does this differ in any way ?? also the overall width of the coils of the stator. As the primary chain would chew the coils up. Can anyone help with these issues I would be grateful.
