hi my dad owns a 1962 model currently being fixed up. he wishes to sell it when finished, assuming it is taxed an tested what would be a sensible price for the bike? thanks

That would be better judged when its finished, much would depend on it being complete and original.
Costs of restoring a bike can often exceed its resale value.

thanks yeah i know that one! would the bike not having its original reg affect its value?

As Rob notes very subjective question, looking on e-bay at completed listings that actually sold the range seems to start just under £1k to just over £2k.

I will second that as has been the case with mine but I did mine to keep so the cost/value calculations don't concern me but it may be more economical to sell it as it is especially when you consider what may be spent on it and the time involved doing it. or of course he may fall in love with it and keep it!!! after putting all the time in.

i wish he could keep it but it becoming too much for him so he will sell it eventually

unfortunately not a option as i am disabled and can not ride a motorbike, we might look at getting a classic car with whatever money we get for it

Hi I sold mine late last year privately for £1550 it was 1960 vintage and in very good condition, Lightweights don't command as much as the 350 heavyweights . hope tht's useful
