Thanks Rob and Colin for your help, any experience with the timed breather thingy?? Interestingly, in the lightweight parts book it shows the same number for all 3 nuts (the two axle ones and the pinion one) so from that I can presume that it is RH thread.

I would had thought R/H. As there's very few L/H, one would assume there would be no point in stating almost all nuts used as being R/H thread. I was looking at a 1954 pt. no. converter, at that time the timing side axel nut was probably only used as such until the lightweight came along.
