Re: G5 Seat
The metal seat base incorporates a bracket that fits over the large top stud that fastens the front and rear frame together. Towards the rear, the base has two square holes into which captive studs fit. These go down through holes in the top frame and are fixed with washers and nuts.

That's different to mine?? My two rear fixings are two captive nuts in the set base and you screw the bolts up from underneath, through the frame and into the captive nuts..Janet wrote:Towards the rear, the base has two square holes into which captive studs fit. Re: G5 Seat
My seat has two captive studs as per Janets post please see picture.
This is the original seat which has been refurbished.
I also have a 'new' seat from club spares which is exactly the same set up.
I dont think it matters too much - studs or bolts. Thanks
Steve

Re: G5 Seat
TBH Janet and Steve, that looks a much better idea than mine... it's a bit of a mission trying to line up the captive nut holes with the holes in the frame to get the bolts through. Maybe I will modify mine to takes nuts as both or yours do... strange though as the captive nuts in the seat base look original??? who knows after 55 years what has been done to it..
