I cannot answer the question but are you talking about a pedal off a G12 (650 heavyweight) or more likely a 250 G2?

The rear brake pedal for a lightweight 250 (G2 or M14) is the same as a G5.

Just to confuse you further, the part number I have is 042449. I suspect that is probably what the seller has but without seeing it I wouldn't swear to it.

Edit, if it's the one on ebay, I think the number is actually a casting number and AMC may have changed it in the parts catalogue. It's a bit of a coincidence that it's only one digit out but for £20+ p&p I'd go for it it you don't have one.

I am sure I have seen brake pedals with a casting number, that actually was the part number. Bit confusing really. Sometimes the casting numbers are casting numbers, sometimes they are the actual part numbers. Further more, sometimes casting numbers were the part numbers when the part was first introduced, but have since been given a new part number. One example, outer timing cover for 1954 350 AJS single. Inside this cover you will se stamped 38-12-E*** ( cannot remember last numbers. ) This was actually the part number in 1938, 38 = introduced 1938. 12 = smallest model the part fitted. This was the part number up until it was given a new part number circa 1952. So quite a few " casting numbers " may be a pt. no. but you may have to check if it has been given a new pt. no.
I know this is very confusing, also very difficult to research a casting number, check if it was ever an actual part number, then check if the part continued in use with a new part number.
I was forever picking up 1938 outer timing covers thinking they were all prewar, until I found out they were used up to 1954 on 350 AJS , up the 1953 on 500 AJS. Welive and learn.

I've just been out to the garage and had a crawl round under my bike. From what I could see in the mirror and under the crud, the number on its brake pedal is zero splodge 2 splodge splodge 8. It would be reasonable to assume that the splodges represent a 4, as many lightweight part numbers start with 042, in which case the lever you have purchased should be correct.

Janet, you have a real talent to be able to decipher splodges read backwards with a mirror.
