Re: Oil filter
I had a rubber washer on the end of my filter and assumed that it was there to seal of the end of the filter unit to ensure the oil went through the filter without any seepage. Left it in and had no issues for years.

Re: Oil filter
Under OIL FILTER (in engine) in the parts book, page , it lists 042846 Ring sealing, oil filter and at 3d would seem about right fora rubber ring.
It also lists 042065, washer, oil filter housing cap, at 6d

Hi Paul,Ozmadman wrote:Hi Mark, maybe you can help me actually, when you took out your filter was there a rubber washer right at the bottom of the filter tunnel (you would need a torch to check as if there is it would probably stay there) Only there was on mine and I don't think it should be there as I cant see anything in the manual. I removed it when I fitted the later filterajsm18 wrote:Thanks Paul. I have the upper one so I'll clean it out and re-use it!.
Many thanks
Mark
I'll take a look but it seems, from other replies, that there should be one.

Re: Oil filter
Thanks everyone, if I ever manage to get the original filter back then I will use a rubber washer down the end of the filter tunnel
