Gearbox output sleeve.

Post by Nigel Leppard »

Well, I thought I would have my gearbox rebuilt this afternoon.......Wrong!!

I have fitted the correct output bearing with the 6mm roller bearings but when I went to tighten the left hand thread nut for the sprocket, everything jammed up solid. After lots of trying I think the P/O has had the sleeve machine down by a few mm to allow for the incorrect bearing he fitted.

The depth of the sleeve is 6.5mm and I think it should be more like 8.5mm.
In addition it only just comes through the oil seal so, has anyone got one they could measure and save me losing the plot completely?

I did try the spares website but I couldn't see one listed. If anyone could help i would very grateful Image

Thanks all.ImageImage

I rebuilt my gearbox satis overwinter with extensive problems. Take a look at clanger9 and vigo feb 20 gearbox might be something there.

Yes, it's been machined down: it should be 10mm.

However, you're in luck - I have a spare you can have.
Send me a PM and I'll pop it in the post...

Hi mate,
Yes I brought it from the club. All back together now with a few mods to stop oil leaks.ImageImage
