G3C Chaincase

Post by Peter Morris »

I have a 1959 G3C that is fitted with a '62 short stroke engine. It has the original AMC trials gearbox and leaky tin chaincase.

If I can find the rear half, is it possible to fit an alloy chain case like the one in the picture?

There is no cush drive on the motor.

Thanks,

Peter

There is a GRP case used by the trials riders that seems to work well. I have seen these advertised on Ebay. Failing this, I think that providing you are not running a dynamo the alloy case should work. I had a 63 G3 with alternator and the case never leaked. So I can't think why you plan would not work fine. Don't forget to post a picture of the new case when fitted, it may help somebody else with a similar problem.
