First run since 1980ish

Post by RichardT »

From a box of parts to a running bike. Took me just over two years but was a fantastic feeling to finally get the ‘old girl' back on the road. Was slightly worried when she cut out at a junction, but after pushing her into a nearby lay-by to check everything over, I think it was more rider error than anything mechanical and she started no problem afterwards. Thanks to the spares dept. and the articles posted here and there; they are a great help to a novice like me. Everything I could keep original I have, although most chrome was peeling off it doesn't look bad in the photo!

Nice job Richard, it's looking good. Obviously you sorted out the wiring gremlins. Wish you many happy miles on it.

Hi

Great feeling isn't it - this is mine before it's first start in over 40 years. I'm now enjoying reliving my youth :D
